Spark your children's creativity these school holidays at THE LUME Melbourne: a fun-filled way to engage them in art, music and culture with workshops and free activities. Save up to $64 with a Family ticket for two Adults and three Children.
These school holidays, children are invited to participate in Art Club as part of their visit to Connection. Led by a member of our friendly Visitor Experience team, children will learn about the iconography, ceremonies and songlines of First Nations cultures, harnessing their personal creativity to create their own artworks to take home.
Multiple daily sessions will run for approximately 45 minutes from inside the main gallery, with Connection as a backdrop for art inspiration.
Every child who visits Connection during school holidays will embark on a memorable journey. Upon entry children will be given a free Connection activity booklet loaded with information and inspiration, encouraging them to creatively interpret the music, the art, and the gallery.
Visit the mezzanine level (upstairs) to spot iconic Australian animals and constellations on the back wall. These furry, fluffy and fronded specimens are anything but idle, with their constant movements proving particularly engaging for younger children.
The cylindrical room plays host to an interactive installation. The space responds to movements, incorporating artworks representing Land, Water and Sky Country, inviting kids to reflect on their reciprocal relationship with Country.
